Your Guide to the New School Year with Splendora ISD

The new school year is here, and you want to make sure your student is well prepared for what's to come. Here are some things to know about the upcoming school year and what to expect:

Campus Hours

Each campus has set hours for doors open, when school begins and when it ends. This is to ensure that all students have reliable transportation and arrive at the appropriate time. For information on your campus school hours, click here.

School Supplies

Students in the Elementary school campus have a designated school supply list that can be found here . Those attending the Intermediate and High School campus do not have a designated school supply list but are expected to arrive with a pencil or pen and paper at the very least. Teachers will provide more information on needed supplies for the school year on the first day of school.

Cell Phone Policy

Please keep in mind that House Bill 1481 was signed into law by Texas Governor Greg Abbott in 2025. This prohibits PK–12 students from utilizing devices throughout the school day. The restriction applies to cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, smartphones, radios, pagers, and any other equipment capable of digital or telecommunication functions.

What does this mean for your child?

  • Splendora ISD must create and enforce a policy requiring devices to be stored and left unused during the school day.
     
  • Exceptions will be made for students who have a documented medical or safety need that requires the use of a device.
     
  • If a device is confiscated under this law, it cannot be disposed of until 90 days after written notice is provided to a parent or guardian.

Please be sure devices are not to be brought to school unless they fall within the guidelines above.
