Splendora ISD Spotlight: SHS Students Recognized for Leadership and Service

Two Splendora ISD Students rise to the top with amazing recognition!

These students are being recognized for their outstanding commitment to service and leadership as members of Education in Action's 2025–2026 Lone Star Leadership Academy Alumni Council.

Students Stormi Bennett and Drew Grahlfs were asked to join the Alumni Council after attending the Lone Star Leadership Academy. These students were asked to identify a need within their school or community to then develop and lead a service project involving volunteers as part of the program.

Stormi Bennet led ‘Donuts for Deputies’, a service project that continued the efforts of showing appreciation to law enforcement officers. Her project organized donations for donuts, breakfast tacos and drinks for members of the Liberty County Sheriff's Office. These items were personally delivered by Stormi and her sponsor, Natalie Gillaspy. Stormi explains that what she learned from this project is that the more love and appreciation you spread, the more others will follow your lead.  

Drew Grahlfs started ‘The Band Bin’ that found a need for toiletries and hygiene items that was then offered to students in the Splendora High School band program, ensuring her peers will have what they need. Drew says through this project she learned that the needs of others impacted everyone in the community.

Students like Stormi and Drew showcase the integrity, honor and leadership that is apparent in Splendora ISD.
